Presentations like this one use Microsoft PowerPoint to drive the presentation but they are highly designed pieces created in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. They are usually fully animated.

This is another example of PowerPoint presentation. Toronto Hydro's brand is very recognizable, the client provided this template look and colours. The design challege was to then develop unique design element that were still "on brand".

One of my first design jobs was a CD & production company. Independent artist often required design as well as production of their marketing material. These are just a few examples that I have of the work I did there.
